This knitted wall hanging shows the Saturn V rocket that took the first humans to the lunar surface as it lifts off from the Kennedy Space Centre in 1969. It is part of a set of knitted pieces created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landings.
It was knitted on a specially adapted knitting machine in Shetland style wool (putty grey and dark mottled blue). The hanging is stiffened and then lined in Scottish linen. It is approximately 60cm wide by 138cm long.
This wall hanging is for sale £180 plus postage. Please contact me using the form on this site if you are interested in buying it.
