Mothballed installation near the Chapelcross Magnox nuclear power plant, Annan, Dumfries and Galloway. Officially, the primary purpose of Chapelcross was to produce weapons-grade plutonium for the British nuclear weapons programme while also generating power for the National Grid. In his unpublished manuscript, My Dad's Still Out There, Hector MacKraken argues that the reactor was also the source of the fuel rods used in Golden Eagle.
